Look who's alive! Me! And I'm doing NaNoWriMo again this year. I've done NaNoWriMo for two years, (my first year was Ebinicah James and the Crystal Orb which was done during 2014), this is my third year and I am so excited! YWP, that's the platform I'm working on this year, got a face lift (yippee!) and now I can write my novel on the actual site. The new site is more clean and slick and since it's brand-new, it's still in BETA (which is kind of sad). That means no friends (yet), no private messaging (yet), no 'watched threads' (yet), etc. Yet I'm not here to complain, I'm here to share my story with you! BUT FIRST, I have to tell you the reason why I've been gone. School. Okay, here's my story blurb. A strange journal. A mysterious Manor. An unbeatable enemy. Doesn't that sounds like a book you would read? Jemima is a fifteen year old girl and Hawthorn is either seventeen or eighteen (I actually haven't decided).
ANYWAYS, I'm around 17,000 words into this 50,000 word novel but I'm trying to get ahead. I'm thinking that I'll be able to do some character cafe's soon enough (character cafe = character interview), but I'm not going to promise anything though (because last time I promised stuff... I didn't keep it. D:). Later on in life I'll have blog posts on how I got inspiration for my book, who the characters are, and what I'm listening to right now while writing this crazy book, etc. And that's everything! Again, I'm really sorry that I've been gone for so long and I'll do my best to post more often. Thanks everyone!

Hey guys! Sorry I haven't been posting a ton. Not only am I rushing to prepare myself for NaNoWriMo (which is only 23 days away), I'm trying to catch up on school (which I am kind of behind in... I still have an 'A' though!). What are YOU doing to prepare for NaNoWriMo? I've been thinking about this question a TON lately, and I realized--nothing. All I've done is make my 'book cover' (it's cool... But it could be WAY cooler), think up a book summary and name it. Then, I'm going to panster it all the way through (so much for being a planner... -_-). Would you like to know what my NaNoWriMo book is called and is about? I'm not going to leave you in the suspense this time. :D My book is called 'Another Imagination'. Abbie can see things others can't. A rare ability to some, a curse to others. Watching the beautiful creatures move around and about has people scared that she'll be influenced to do something she's not suppose to, but on the contrary the creatures that she sees want to be her friend, to be laughed with, to have someone love them. Do you like it? I can't wait to start writing! I'm going to have a character interview with Abbie some Thursday this month, so be on a look out! Are YOU participating in NaNoWriMo? Are you thinking about doing it this year? Do you have a book that you're about to start (even if you aren't doing NaNoWriMo)? By the way, I'm thinking about having a 'Book Cover Contest' for my book because I made a cover for myself, but I'm not sure if it really fits... If you like the idea, I'll consider putting the contest into action. Thank you so much everyone for what you do! (c) All rights reserved. Jill Williamson's 'By Darkness Hid', the first book in the Blood of Kings Trilogy, is free on eBook! By Darkness Hid - Amazon Cool right? I'll give you a fact about it. It's her oldest published book and it's been out ever since 2009. I would love to see this book be at the top of the bestseller list. Here's the summary. Given the chance to train as a squire, kitchen servant Achan Cham hopes to pull himself out of his pitiful life and become a Kingsguard Knight. When Achan's owner learns of his training, he forces Achan to spar with the Crown Prince--more of a death sentence than an honor. Meanwhile, strange voices in Achan's head cause him to fear he's going mad. While escorting the prince to a council presentation, their convoy is attacked. Achan is wounded and arrested, but escapes from prison--only to discover a secret about himself he never believed possible. I've read that summary at least five times and I still get an amazing fuzzy feeling (it's the kind when something incredible happened in a movie).
Would you like to help get it to the top? Click on the picture (or the 'By Darkness Hid - Amazon' above the picture) and it'll go straight to Amazon. And buy it! WELL, your not really buying it, your just getting it. So go get it! Have fun and help her get to the top! Writing a book is fairly easy. Gathering ideas for books is easy too. But writing a story from beginning to end is another story. There are constant obstacles in your way. School is one of them, then there are outing/events, and then there is writers block.
I had so much writers block that I put away my story for two months. I could be half way through the book know if I had some idea what I was going too write. And, I could have already decided if I wanted too add another character to be essential to the book. But, I had to wait. I had to let my brain rest. Yet, there was a little part of me (hehe... I say little... I really mean gigantic part of me) really wanted to go back to writing. I wanted to just keep on writing. There were so many things that I wanted to write in my book. Yet, I was constantly stopped because of a fear that if I did this thing in my book, then it would go another way and make my book come to an end. And I didn't want to make this book into a series. That's what Ebinicah James series is for. Not this book. Writing may be a challenge. But it leaves you breathless when you've finished your masterpiece. Okie dokie, now it's time for Nex Gen Justice League. If you're new to this, here are all the parts: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, and Part 4. "Welcome, welcome," A strange voice cried out. I shook myself awake to see the Mad Hatter, and his father, the Card Dealer, staring right in front of me. "Glad you've awoken," the Card Dealer said. "Umm... I'm not," I replied looking around. The whole entire place was a dump. The ground looked like mud was caked all over the floor, the ceilings were dripping green goop and the furniture was crashed all over the floor. "Why? Do you not like our humble home?" Mad Hatter pretended to look hurt but just laughed it off. "Uh, wouldn't it have been much easier and nicer for you two to settle in a Casino?" I asked. The two looked at each other, apparently not thinking about such a thing. "That isn't the point, the New Generation of the Light shall break down your barriers," the Card Dealer declared. New Generation of the Light? Breaking down our barriers? What did he mean by all of that? "Yo-you're not trying to get...," I froze in mid-sentence. "You are correct my dear, if we reach the graves of your beloved grandparents, we can make an army of your great superheroes and restore the great Savage!" the Card Deal exclaimed. "Spray her." The Mad Hatter came up to me, having an apologetic look on his face and sprayed me with purple gas from a flower. The Mind-Washing Gas. Thanks everybody! And stay in tune for next weeks!
TOMORROW IS TEEN AUTHOR BOOT CAMP... WHAT DO I DO?! I mean... I'm prepared and all... but... it just feels as if that I'm so UNprepared and so SCARED. (hehe... that's because I AM scared.)
I am meeting a ton of authors that write for teenagers and I'm pretty sure that I haven't read any of their books. (Jessica Day George is going to be there and I haven't read ANY of her books... HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE?!?!) -_- I feel so terrible... Oh well, I've got to get over it and be myself tomorrow. Because tomorrow is a big day for me (and everyone else in my family, because they're going to.) Wish me luck!
So sorry that this is SUPER late. But, I'm very busy getting everything ready for TABC. (SUPER EXCITED. I AM FREAKING OUT THAT IT'S THREE DAYS LEFT.)
Well, I've got to go (to sleep)! Bye!
Gotta make this quick.... Cause I'm packing to leave to TABC... My bones are trembling, my heart is pounding, and I really just want to sleep cause I'm way tired..
BUT I AM STILL EXCITED FOR TABC! Can't wait! Oh! And btw, I'm not bring my computer so this might be the last TABC count-down for this week. Sorry! And I might not be able to do the Fan fiction story this week either...
ONLY FIVE MORE DAYS LEFT.
THE PRESSURE IS OVERWHELMING! I still need to buy some books! So much to do in so little time. I still haven't asked my mother if I can do Camp NaNoWriMo this month! Wait... I think it might be easier if I do Camp NaNoWriMo in July... Maybe that will be easier..... ANYWAY, 5 days left including today. Is anyone freaking out yet is that just me? (I'm pretty sure it's just me, but, who knows... maybe someone's out there and is really looking forward to TABC as much as I am.) Don't be shy! Tell me in the comments what book that you ABSOLUTELY LOVE and can not live without! (Oh and by the way, George Lucas is the most amazing person... ever.) And head over to Go Teen Writers, it'll help you with your writing skills a ton!
I've only got 6 more days! Yeah... I really need to stop stressing myself out. I've got my outfit planned, I've got my schedule in check, I know what I going to bring to entertain myself while me and my family drive to TABC and I'm SUPER EXCITED.
(I say 'super excited' in every TABC Count-Down... Don't I?) But anywho... Today is a day that I must tell you EARTH SHATTERING NEWS... I will only be posting Nex Gen Justice League once a week now, not twice. The reason I'm doing this is because I have WAAAYYY to much on my hands to handle at this current moment in time. But when summer rolls around, I will be very very very happy to start doing it twice again. :3
Yes I know.. Only seven days left! How is that even possible?
But I still really excited. I've got everything I need too. (Except tons of books that I need authors to sign... I'll get that quickly. :3) :D I'll do a TABC Count-Down on Monday because I'm not including Sunday in the Count-down. (BTW, Charisma and I are turning 13 tomorrow! So excited!) Thanks! |
I am the Smol Scribble. I came to realize that, even though the first drafts of books aren't perfect, they are the closest to my heart...
