Your Art Style

2/14/2018

One of THE hardest things to obtain
It's basically your identity in the form of your art.

For almost every artist that I follow (and I follow quite a few), I can pinpoint who drew it, state their username, and identify what stood out to me.  Sometimes it's the coloring.  Sometimes it's the way that they draw their eyes.  Other times, they have a uniquely different art style that I've NEVER in my whole life seen before, which is pretty cool.

I'm always fascinated by how people obtain their art style and I constantly wonder when I'll get mine.  But ONE THING keeps with me as I think about it:

  They Practiced.

They didn't just sit around waiting for it to come to them.  Oh no.

They experimented with their design.  What DIDN'T feel comfortable for them.  They went outside of their comfort zone trying to explore the other possibilities that were out there.  They were willing to do something and everything different.

So go out there.  Do something different.  Experiment.  But most of all:

  PRACTICE.

  P.R.A.C.T.I.C.E.

  It is important.

But you know what is MORE important than practicing?

Enjoying it.  Loving what you do.

That's SUPER important everybody.  If you don't love it, if you don't enjoy, then why are you putting time into it?  Feel that want, that desire, to do it.  Especially if it's something that you love or want to love.  It is no use if you think of it as another grudging job.  From the artists that I follow, when they're tired with drawing or once they start to feel as if it was becoming another job, then they take a break.  They either stop drawing just to let their mind relax and they enjoy life and other joys that they have or they start drawing what they love, like fanart or personal projects that they neglected to do commissions ('cause they they need the money).  This is necessary to feel that love and desire again.

Yeah peeps can't burn yourselves out.

It's bad.  You want that burn to drive you to finish things.

Anyways, this kinda (a lot, actually) veered off topic, but the moral of this story is DO WHAT YOU LOVE.  PRACTICE.  AND TAKE BREAKS.

I'll always be rooting for you!

The Power of Words Tag

2/7/2018

This took forever to post!!  D':  I was tagged for this in like, 2016, and I'm finally posting it in 2018.

As you can see, it takes me forever to do anything.

  ANYWAYS!!!

Alexa from Summer Snowflakes, a lovely person with a lovely blog, tagged me in this!  So I'm here to do it!
Picture

Welp.  That's a big picture.  BUT IT'S PRETTY!!!  (And outdated...)  So I'm gonna leave it.  :D

The Rules (according to the ones I saw one the Summer Snowflakes):

1. Thank the person who nominated you and link to their blog.
THANKS AGAIN ALEXA!!!  You're great and fabulous and goodness, you're amazing!!!  You are one of the coolest people I know.  :3
Summer Snowflakes - Her lovely blog!

2. Answer the original six text-themed questions.

3. Add a typography/word-related question of your own for those tagged to answers.

4. Tag six or more bloggers and let them know.  (I-I don't have any blogger friends everyone...  I'm lonely.  hahaha)

5. Include these rules in your post.  (Got that done!)

What is Your Favorite Letter of the Alphabet?

Well.  I agree with Alexa, I don't have a favorite letter.  But I can see colors with a specific letter and different colors with different words!  Isn't that pretty cool!  Though II'm pretty sure lots of other people can do that, which I think is spectacular.  YET!  If I had to pick a letter, it'd probably be the letter.... C.  'Cause I like it.  And it's pretty and calm and... yeah.  I like it.  :3

Three Words You Love?

I like a lot of words.  But I especially like the words Sakura - the Japanese word meaning Cherry Blossom, Magic, and Enchanting.

Some more words I like are Mystic, Glory, Darkness, Light, Ethereal, etc., BUT I'm getting a bit out of hand.  Hehe.

Three Words You Hate?

UM.  GAH.  I don't know.  The only words that I don't like are curse and swear words.  Because THE WORLD DOESN'T NEED THEM.  THEY DON'T NEED TO EXIST.  I-It just bugs me. So, soo much.  Ugh.

If You Were to Create a Word, What Would it Be and What Would it Describe?

This one is half easy!  I would create a word that described all positive things in just ONE BIG THING.  What that word would be, I have no idea.  Like zero, sooo... Just imagine something!

Three Favorite Punctuation Marks?

  !, ..., and *

Three Favorite Fonts?

I've always loved the fonts Old English Text, Harrington and Times New Roman.  But my all time favorite would be Old English Text, because MAN IS IT PRETTY!!!  I used that font a ton when I was writing stories.

Bonus Question:  If you could change the way one word sounded, which would it be and how would it sound?

I would change the way 'nostalgia' sounded, just because of the fact that I can't say it right.  It always sounds weird...

Bonus Question:  Do you know of a word that looks better than it sounds?

YES!  I DO KNOW A WORD!!  Rendezvous.

I looks SOO much prettier than it sounds.  Most of the time when I see this word, I get confused on how to say it because I don't expect it to be the short (rauhn-DAI-vu) that it is.

Questions from Alexa

Question 1:  What are the most powerful words you've heard?  (Could be something someone said to you, a word that just sounds powerful, or a short motto that inspires you.)

Oh, I have something for this!

  1)  I've always loved the quote by Audrey Hepburn: "Nothing is Impossible.  The word itself say, 'I'm Possible!'"

Question 2:  Can you think of a book title that has at least 5 of the words you mentioned throughout your tag?  (If you can't, make up one.  I think this'll be fun.)

  HAHAAAA!!!

  NO!!

  AHAHAHAA!!!

  Oh, that was good.

I guess I'll have to make up one then...

This is going to be super long...

  Ethereal Rendevous Nostalgia Sakura Mystic

The Mystic Rendevous: A Sakura of Ethereal Nostalgia

  o.o

  o.O

  w-wat is this...

  What is this?

I-I didn't think I would end up making up a title like that!!  I want to know what it's about now...

  I GOTTA WRITE ANOTHER BOOK!!!

Well, thanks Alexa for tagging me!!  And I'm so sorry that it took me forever to do!!

Since I'm supposed to tag people now, but I still don't have any blogger friends, I'm making this open to anybody who wants to do it!  Go and have fun!

The ability to inspire and help other create is the ultimate goal that I strive for.
Helping others find out what their artistic ability helps me better understand the choices of creativity that are out there in the world.
