Hello Twisters~ I'm ready to start some new stories! I have a couple stories to write, but I only have the time to start writing one at present. This story is set in the same universe as Jorge McGregory, but this time, I am going to be looking at a different group of individuals. This group is supposed to visually represent a type of angelic version of Zenyatta, but human(-ish). I'm not sure what their world is supposed to look nor their history. I'm also not sure what I'm supposed to do with their Beloved. Their Beloved, in a way, is kind of like the god they worship. With that being said, I only have a good eighth of their backstory finish and their side of the story is part two of the story. In regards to characters, there are two main ones, neither of which have names. One, at present, is being called the Man and the other simply doesn't have a name. The Man is supposed to be the offspring of the Beloved and is supposed to be the ruler of this world. But, the Beloved has made sure that all of his offspring have a physical challenge that they need to overcome, and the Man's challenge is that his wings, at birth, are completely made out of stone. The other character is who the POV is in. They are, at first, just supposed to be a side character because all they're doing is telling the story of the Man and having small interactions with him. It's only until the end does our POV character becoming the main protagonist. I have a lot of planning and background creating to do for this story because I still have to make sure that it still coincides with the world of Jorge McGregory. Regardless, I am excited and I'm ready to dive right in! Until Next Time... Adieu.

Hello Twisters~
While I was researching something for a book, I came across a quote by a blogger saying how every writer needs to find their voice. And I don't think I've found mine. So, that's what I'm going to do these next few weeks. I'm going to keep writing (and reading) and transform my writing voice into something that I'm proud of. I finished a short story recently and, honestly, I have no idea how I feel about it. Jorge McGregory: Obey has a lot of themes in it that I, personally, wasn't sure that I could even write. But as a thriller writer, you're always surprising yourself, right?
Let's talk about the world. A fantasy world where the main foundation is religion. This helps readers form their opinions right from the start. The nation that Jorge lives in is built on the sole living existence of The Tree, which is pretty much the source of power for the whole world. There are two main religions, but I'm sure that there are more in different nations, but I haven't covered anything beyond this current story. Having religion is having a social status in this world. If you have a high role in your set religion, then you have a high role in society. And the parents of Jorge had that specifically. Now, on to the characters. Jorge, I love him. He is such an emotional character, but he's so vulnerable to painful emotions which make it difficult for him to trust. He is patient, but he hated his life. He is smart, but he couldn't escape. He is loving, but only when he needs to be. He loves his religion, more than anything. His religion is the only thing keeping him alive. Iggy Jewel, Jorge's mother, is smart and clever. She thinks outside of the box on how to catch her enemies and she is very good at enticing her prey. She's very beautiful and kind, which makes her easier to approach and she absolutely adores her religion. After all, she would do anything for it. Luke McGregory, Jorge's father, is kind, loving, and strong. He loves his son with all of his heart, but a part of him is dripping with guilt and hatred. His outward appearance reflects his personality as well as his attitude towards life. Just like Iggy, he loves his religion, just as much as he loves Jorge. Next, let's talk about the theme. I wanted to explore the mental boundaries of an obedient child. For example, how would a seven-year-old react to their parents getting a divorce? Would they understand the depth of the situation? What would their initial reaction be to the situation? Would the child choose a parent over the other? There are so many possible questions and outcomes to what looks like a simple situation. And that single situation could change drastically depending on if the child was older or younger or even if we looked at the situation through the eyes of the parent. That's what I want to explore. I want to explore the deeper end of the spectrum of what many people might think 'are good and positive messages'. That way, if I am able to show others how powerful small, simple words are then maybe, just maybe, more people would think before they speak. Now, let me go back to the very beginning and answer the question: "What is it about the story that you're uncertain about?" I'm uncertain about my approach that I took. The concept is really intriguing and the characters are life-like, but the story as a whole is very... unsettling. Being the first draft, I know it'll get better in the future, I understand that. Yet, I wrote it as a thriller. Would the message I'm trying to convey be heard through a genre that is already hard to understand? Was it wise for me to put a good amount of dark themes into the story? How would the readers connect with the characters? Would they only feel pity for one of them or all of them? As a thriller writer, these are the questions that I have to keep in mind. I don't want to scare off my audience, but then again, I don't want them to necessarily enjoy the journey either. This story was a short story. It is currently around 5,000 words long and is undergoing first draft beta reading by my family. I AM participating in Camp NaNoWriMo this year, I just have to finish summer school (which I'm planning on finishing this week). Thank you for reading and I hope you have a pleasurable day! Look who's alive! Me! And I'm doing NaNoWriMo again this year. I've done NaNoWriMo for two years, (my first year was Ebinicah James and the Crystal Orb which was done during 2014), this is my third year and I am so excited! YWP, that's the platform I'm working on this year, got a face lift (yippee!) and now I can write my novel on the actual site. The new site is more clean and slick and since it's brand-new, it's still in BETA (which is kind of sad). That means no friends (yet), no private messaging (yet), no 'watched threads' (yet), etc. Yet I'm not here to complain, I'm here to share my story with you! BUT FIRST, I have to tell you the reason why I've been gone. School. Okay, here's my story blurb. A strange journal. A mysterious Manor. An unbeatable enemy. Doesn't that sounds like a book you would read? Jemima is a fifteen year old girl and Hawthorn is either seventeen or eighteen (I actually haven't decided).
ANYWAYS, I'm around 17,000 words into this 50,000 word novel but I'm trying to get ahead. I'm thinking that I'll be able to do some character cafe's soon enough (character cafe = character interview), but I'm not going to promise anything though (because last time I promised stuff... I didn't keep it. D:). Later on in life I'll have blog posts on how I got inspiration for my book, who the characters are, and what I'm listening to right now while writing this crazy book, etc. And that's everything! Again, I'm really sorry that I've been gone for so long and I'll do my best to post more often. Thanks everyone! I'm going to start righting this week! I am super excited, yet I'm just a little bit scared, because I haven't written so long. BUT THAT WON'T STOP ME NOW!!! :L
Yup, I'm excited. I'm going to be finishing the story that I started in March, because it's a really good story, but when that's finished, I'm going to start up a story revolving around samurai, their society, along with their honor code and faith. I want it to be a Historical Fiction (this will be my first one) although, I'm going to have to do a lot of research for this book. I don't want it to be a series, I want it to be a stand alone. If I had to do a series, I would just make a timeline order book series. They would all still be stand alones, yet I would make cameo appearances of characters from past books and/or have past characters become legends that the heroes look up to. In short, I've got a whole lot planned for this book. And I am really excited. Thanks for reading! Since I'm (kind-of) done with school, I will be begin posting back here very (very) soon! Just wanted to give all of you a heads up. :3
Hi everyone.
I'm going to be pausing the post on the Writing Journey for a while because I've found it difficult to write. I want to write, but at the same time, I don't want to write at all. And, for that reason, I'm going to see if I can lift my spirits and try to gain my yearning for writing back (I asked for some advice from Raychel Rose, an amazing author, over at her blog and kindly answered me. It's question 8). Please check her out, she's amazing! Once more, thanks everyone for everything and I hope I'll be able to start writing blog posts and stories again! Forgive me for not doing the Authors' Series. The only reason I haven't posted anything for such a long time is because I haven't been onto the blog for quite some time (and my Spring Break was last week). I'll be restarting the series somewhere between next week and the week of April 4th.
Recently, my mother showed me a video on how a girl (I think she's 13?) made her own company, made her own animation show and did a lot of other things and she's still going to school and having a normal life. I thought that was very inspiring and that made me think: why not make my own animation show? I haven't been writing a lot and I do want to get back into the flow of being a writer, but I don't want to write a full length novel. And I thought that it might be easier to just write an episode a time (not only would the plot be more interesting, it wouldn't be as hard). I know that writing an episode would be a bit difficult for me, yet I'm willing to try! Today we're going to be talking about reliable writing resources. Everyone has those go-to sites that help them get new story ideas and/or just help them write better. But how can we determine whether their dependable or not?
Truly this is a personal decision, as all of us are different, yet there are a few tricks I've found over the years that have proven quite helpful in picking writing sources:
I've decided that I wanted to do a writing series, not only do I want to post more about writing, I wanted to talk about a few things. They aren't necessarily writing tips, but I do want to share some writing advice that I've gotten through the years. The first thing that I'll be talking about is: Making A Memorable MC I have a ton of great MC's. I have little Abbie from my WIP Another Imagination and I've got Ebinicah James from my paused WIP Ebinicah James and the Crystal Orb. I know Rehe only reason I've said two MC's is because I'm working on some secret books and I don't want to reveal who the main characters are just yet. Yet all of these main characters started out like normal ordinary people. They had something special that inspired us to write a book about THEM and THEIR journey.
Here are some questions I asked myself whenever I made a new MC:
After that step, I have one thing I must accomplish with my MC before I begin to write them: LEAVE. I put my character away for a few days, I don't think about the story (even though I end up thinking about it in the end), mention the character and I just go about my life. Then I go back to my MC to see if they're still fresh and new feeling (because I don't want a reader to be so into one of my books and then they, reluctantly, put down the book and come back to it later to just wanting to put it down again... Does that make sense?) There we go! My three handy-dandy steps I use to make a memorable character.
